From the rising sake brand “Utashiro” brewed on Sado Island in Niigata Prefecture comes the seasonal limited release “Hanaakari Namazake.” “Hanaakari” refers to the gentle illumination of cherry blossoms under moonlight, softly lighting up the night—a poetic and refined expression of Japanese aesthetics. This sake is inspired by that imagery, crafted to embody a delicate yet radiant springtime character.

It uses locally grown Koshitanrei rice, paired with Niigata’s original G74 yeast, and incorporates white koji in part of the koji to add a subtle layer of flavor. The result is a fresh, light, and nuanced expression of spring. The overall mouthfeel is smooth and easy-drinking, with a lively flow and a clean, crisp finish.
