Bizen Asahi Junmai Daiginjo Tanrei Fresh combines a refreshing, light style with the hallmark lush sweetness of the Kamonishiki Nifudazake series. Alongside its graceful sweetness, the vivid grain umami and solidity characteristic of traditional rice varieties come through clearly.

The history of Asahi Rice dates back to the Taisho and early Showa eras, when it was as renowned in western Japan as Kame no O in the east. Although it fell out of widespread cultivation after the war, displaced by higher-yielding and easier-to-grow varieties, Okayama Prefecture preserved it through selection and breeding, shortening its stalks to improve cultivation. Thus, the traditional rice variety “Bizen Asahi” survives to this day.
