Description

Although the sake is composed of the Arabashiri and Seme portions of the pressing, it displays none of the roughness one might expect. Following pasteurization, there is no pronounced sharp effervescence; instead, the sake presents a crisp, tightly structured, refreshing, and highly drinkable style. With the alcohol content adjusted to 15%, the overall profile feels even lighter and more effortless, making it especially enjoyable when thoroughly chilled during the hot summer months. On days when the heat makes even sake feel too heavy, a well-chilled glass of this charming “Polar Bear” offers a wonderfully fresh and invigorating drinking experience.

Released in June 2026 by Kimura Brewery in Akita Prefecture, Kakuemon Junmai Ginjo Summer Sake Araseki Kongo Polar Bear Label is a seasonal limited-edition summer release. The clear bottle features a leisurely swimming polar bear, creating a cool, playful visual perfectly suited to the season. Each year, approximately 8% of the bottles also feature an ultra-rare hidden-character label, adding an element of surprise for collectors and fans. The term “Araseki Kongo” refers to a blend of the Arabashiri and Seme portions collected during pressing. Although the sake has a lightly cloudy character, only a small amount of fine sake lees settles at the bottom of the bottle.
