This sake has a stable and mild aroma with a rich and pure flavor, resembling the sweetness of ripe fruit. It has an elegant and fruity flavor, as well as a bitter taste resembling that of citrus peel.

The name "Kuronawa" comes from a long time ago when a specially high-quality rice was transported from Ushu to Edo, and black ropes were tied around the bags to signify their rarity and value. The rare and highly valued "Kuronawa" in the Juyondai series was once called the "phantom" sake because it was difficult to obtain.
