Description
While enjoying its rich aroma and juicy sweetness, drinkers can also take part in a meaningful reconstruction support initiative. The sake is highly regarded for its beautifully balanced profile, where generous umami and fruit-forward character coexist in remarkable harmony.

In April 2016, Kumamoto Prefecture was struck by a devastating earthquake that reached the maximum seismic intensity of 7 on the Japanese scale. The Kato family, owners of Fuji Shuzo—the brewery behind Eiko Fuji—are believed to be descendants of Kato Kiyomasa, the historical lord who oversaw the reconstruction and expansion of Kumamoto Castle. The castle itself suffered severe damage during the earthquake, with restoration costs estimated at approximately ¥63.4 billion. To return the landmark to its pre-disaster condition, a long-term restoration project is underway and is expected to continue until 2052, spanning a total of 36 years.

Marking the 10th anniversary of the Kumamoto Earthquake, the "Kumamoto Castle REVIVAL" initiative was launched to reflect on the progress of reconstruction efforts while ensuring that the lessons and memories of the disaster are passed on to future generations. Beginning with the 2026 vintage, Eiko Fuji has adopted Kumamoto-grown Kumasan no Kagayaki rice for this release and continues to position it as part of its ongoing Donation Project. A portion of the proceeds from every bottle sold will continue to be donated directly to support the restoration and preservation of Kumamoto Castle.
