When freshly arrived, the flavor is especially vibrant, with a faint, freshly pressed spritz that brings a refreshing lift. The sake shows a gently sweet, full-bodied umami supported by clean, well-defined acidity, making it irresistibly enjoyable alongside food. It is a highly recommended expression in terms of overall balance and drinkability.

The drinking style is very flexible. It is particularly recommended to start chilled, where the elegant sweetness and umami can be clearly appreciated, or to warm it very gently to a barely warm temperature, which naturally relaxes the mood and delivers a soft, calming sensation.

Brewed in Tsushima City, Aichi Prefecture, using underground water from the Kiso River, the brewery’s tōji carefully selects sake rice from renowned regions across Japan and produces this sake in small batches. Its quality is widely recognized, and each release enjoys strong popularity with a devoted fan base throughout Japan.

Among Chouchin Shuzo’s lineup, the well-known and highly followed “Newspaper Series” stands out, and this Junmai 60% Muroka Nama Genshu is its most standard and representative expression. After pressing, the sake is rested in the tank to allow the lees to settle naturally, then the clear upper portion is carefully bottled one by one and released as an unfiltered, undiluted nama sake.
