Description


The ingredient ratio is one-third rice koji and two-thirds barley, fully drawing out the roundness and soft texture of the rice. With the use of black koji, it exudes an aroma reminiscent of roasting. The umami is rich and full-bodied—while white koji typically delivers a delicate permeating taste, this shochu emphasizes a stronger presence with dense and robust umami. Whether enjoyed on the rocks, with water, or with hot water, its depth and richness can be clearly appreciated.

“Chingu” means “lifelong friend” in the Nagasaki dialect. This shochu was named “Chingu” because it was created through discussions and shared ideas among Omoya Shuzo and a group of close “chingu” friends.
