Description

This sake has a fragrance similar to that of a honeydew melon, with a crisp and smooth mouthfeel, along with a fresh and juicy flavor. The pleasant acidity echoes and showcases the diversity of sake, while also arousing imaginations about suitable small dishes to pair it with.

As depicted on the label, Mitsuo Yamakawa is challenging to pair it with dishes made with yogurt. This sake is made using the well-reputed white koji of Yamagata, and it has a rich citric acid content.

The label depicts Mitsuo bowing with a one-liter sake bottle on his head, pouring sake, and becoming upset as the bottle is emptied. It is said that he enjoys smoking hams and pondering in the great nature of Yamagata. This fictional character "Yamakawa Mitsuo" has gained attention from people.

"2023 Spring" will be brewed by Mitobe Sake Brewery (Yamagata Masamune). Mitsuo Yamakawa's theme for this year is "collaborating with fermented food." Please enjoy Mitsuo Yamakawa's humorous label and the unique flavors each brewery showcases in this series.
