Takachiyo Houjunmujin Junmai Daiginjo Nakadori Namazake (Black) is a seasonal limited edition version of the popular Takachiyo Sake series; and is well-loved in the Nanbu area of Niigata.

Besides Niigata's Tanrei Karakuchi, Takachiyo Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. created the "Takachiyo Hiragana Series" to provide various types of sake to younger generations and expose them to the beauty of sake. The brewery releases this series with different colors on the labels, depending on the season.

Their rice is polished using the flat polishing method, which takes twice as long as the usual method, leading to higher quality sake compared to conventional rice.
