Description

This sake, named "Onisuke Junmai Genshu Hiyaoroshi," boasts a delicate fragrance with subtle notes of crispy rice. Upon tasting, one can experience a strong acidity accompanied by a pronounced alcoholic intensity and a faintly dry sensation. The mouthfeel is full-bodied, akin to savoring the rich and mature flavor of rice, leaving a refreshing aftertaste.

Do you happen to know the story behind the "Oni-shu" series? There is a close connection between Japan's Yoshino Town and Shugendo, with the main headquarters of the Shugendo religion located on Mount Yoshino. It is believed that this mountain temple, Kinpusen-ji, was founded by the founder of Shugendo, En no Ozunu. His original name was "En no Gyokaku," and it is said that he was originally a mischievous and malevolent deity. However, he later reformed and became a disciple. Based on this story, the "Oni-shu" series of sake was born.
