The “Nabeshima Junmai Daiginjo Cross” is a blend of two junmai daiginjos, each polished to 45%, specifically Yamada Ho and Shunkan Watsune (Watsune No. 2). During the brewing process, the amount of both white rice used is the same.

Shunkan Watsune is regarded as the paternal lineage of Yamada Nishiki, while Yamada Ho is the maternal lineage. This sake is the first attempt to blend the two, creating a unique flavor. The name “Cross” signifies the blend, with a “+” symbol used on the label to indicate its blended nature.
