Kuramoto Shuzo is located in the northeastern mountainous region of Nara, the birthplace of Japanese sake, in the Tsuge area of the Yamato Highlands, where winters are harsh and many ice house relics remain. Here, Kuramoto Shuzo adheres to the philosophy that “sake brewing starts with rice cultivation,” using rice grown in their own fields and spring water sourced from the mountains, resulting in this sake brewed at low temperatures. “Crunge” represents the flavors of the brewery's location conveyed through the sake.
