The liquid is slightly cloudy due to residual starch from sake lees, resulting in a smooth and full-bodied texture. The natural liveliness and slight effervescence of this nama genshu (unpasteurized, undiluted sake) bring a refreshing sensation. Sweetness and acidity are well-balanced, offering a multi-layered yet clean and refreshing taste. Like moonlight filtering through a misty night sky, it is both gentle and mysterious — a visually and sensorially captivating masterpiece with a round mouthfeel and subtle transitions.

It is perfect not only for solo sipping but also pairs beautifully with rich or slightly salty dishes, such as cheese platters, creamy seafood pasta, or seared sushi.

This sake comes from Chiba Prefecture’s Kankiku Meijo and is part of the popular “Jugem” series. Subtitled “Hazy Moon,” it evokes a dreamy and gentle image of a moonlit night in light mist.
