Description

BORN by Sakahomare is a pure rice Daiginjo sake made by polishing our own rice to 50%. It has a rich and fresh aroma with a fruity fragrance, and a delicious grape flavor on the palate. The deep and distinct flavor profile pairs well with seafood from the Echizen coast.

This collaboration between "BORN by Sakahomare" and "Tokyo Revengers" uses the unique sake rice "Sakahomare" from Fukui Prefecture.

"Sakahomare" is a premium sake rice variety unique to Fukui Prefecture that was developed through a collaboration between the Fukui Agricultural Experiment Station, the Fukui Food Processing Research Institute, and the Fukui Sake Brewers Association in 2010. After 8 years of research and screening over 8,000 candidate varieties, they chose "Yuzunoshizuku," a sake rice variety indigenous to Okuetsu, Fukui prefecture, as the male parent, and "Yamada Nishiki," known as the king of sake rice, as the female parent. It was registered as a new sake rice variety in 2018 and has been cultivated throughout Fukui prefecture since the Reiwa era, using a method certified as a special cultivation method for agricultural products in Fukui that reduces pesticide and chemical fertilizer use.
