The “Te to Te” series is characterized by its rich fruity aroma, the gentle umami and balance brought out by Shiga-grown sake rice. It embodies both lightness and depth, offering a heartwarming experience whether paired with food or enjoyed on its own.

The palate is soft, full-bodied, and well-balanced, expressing the warmth and abundance of the autumn harvest. Named “Kinshu no Hōjō” (Autumn Harvest Blessing), it symbolizes gratitude for nature’s bounty and the blessings of the season. Best enjoyed at room temperature to fully appreciate this limited-edition sake dedicated to autumn’s grace.

From the historic Shiga-based brewery Naminooto Shuzo, which has over 200 years of history, comes the exclusive brand “Te to Te” — created by the 11th-generation brewer, Mr. Mitsuya Nakai. The name “Te to Te” (meaning “hand in hand”) represents the warmth of human connection through sake.

Mr. Nakai trained for four years at Aizu’s Akebono Shuzo in Fukushima Prefecture before returning to his hometown. Guided by the philosophy of “old vessels, new sake,” he blends traditional craftsmanship with modern sensibility to create a new style of Japanese sake.

This autumn-limited edition, “Kinshu no Hōjō,” was born under the theme of “taking a step into new challenges.” It marks the brewery’s first attempt at the double koji method, doubling the ratio of koji rice. The inspiration came from the brewer’s curiosity: “Even as temperatures drop and rice becomes harder to dissolve, could doubling the koji still draw out deeper umami?”

The result is a beautifully rounded sake that perfectly harmonizes umami, acidity, and sweetness — a heartfelt expression of craftsmanship and innovation.
