Description

Upon opening, the enchanting aroma of 'Houzan Josen Ayamurasaki Imo Shochu' fills the air with the unique and sweet scent of 'Ayamurasaki.' The taste is incredibly smooth, leaving a clean and refreshing aftertaste, providing a delightful sensory experience.

This precious shochu uses the 'Ayamurasaki' purple sweet potatoes grown in Kagoshima as its main ingredient and utilizes the underground water 'Houmei Mizu' springing from Mt. Hakozaki in Satsuma as the brewing water source. To directly showcase the characteristics of sweet potatoes, the original liquid is produced using atmospheric single-distillation, and it is bottled without any filtration or adjustments.

'Ayamurasaki' is rich in polyphenolic compounds known as anthocyanins, and it has a lower starch content, requiring more manual labor than typical raw materials. Although the production efficiency as shochu raw material is lower, its distinctive feature is the ability to create a magnificent flavor akin to wine.
