“DATE SEVEN SEASON II Episode IV Hakurakusei-Style & Urakasumi-Style” is a limited-edition sake set jointly crafted by seven breweries across the Tohoku region. Centered around Miyagi’s prestigious breweries “Hakurakusei” and “Urakasumi,” each sake represents a distinct expression of “mountain” and “sea.”

Using top-grade Yamada Nishiki from Hyogo Prefecture polished to 48%, the rice polishing was completed collaboratively by all participating breweries. The Urakasumi style is brewed using both Miyagi yeast and Association No.12 yeast, blending Urakasumi’s traditional craftsmanship to produce an elegant and intricate Junmai Daiginjo. Meanwhile, the Hakurakusei style employs Niizawa Brewery’s proprietary yeast, showcasing its signature clarity and refinement to perfection.

The bottle designs symbolize the unique identities of each sake: the “Urakasumi Sea Bottle” draws inspiration from the coastal scenery of Shiogama City, where Saura Co., Ltd. is located. Its topographic lines depict the flowing forms of water and islands, expressing the beauty of the sea. The “Hakurakusei Mountain Bottle,” on the other hand, is inspired by the mountain ranges of Kawasaki Town, home of Niizawa Brewery, with layered lines representing strength, depth, and resilience.

Highly popular year after year, the DATE SEVEN project often sells out even before official release. This dual release allows drinkers to experience both expressions side by side, savoring the artistry born from the collaboration of seven renowned Miyagi breweries.
