Description

Featuring a fruity and uplifting aroma, a refreshing sweetness, and moderate acidity, this sake is very easy on the palate.

Originally sold as a regional sake, it is now known as Yamamoto "Turquoise Blue."

In 1955, Mr. Sato Houtaro from Yamada, Yuzawa City, selected the variety from "Shinshu 190" (Takane Nishiki). Compared to the original variety, it ripens earlier, has a better expression of shinpaku (white heart), and good brewing characteristics. However, due to the difficulty of cultivation, the total area of cultivation reached 2,200 hectares at its peak in 1960 but gradually decreased, making it a rare sake rice today.

Brewed with such rare sake rice and named "Turquoise" (jade) with the meaning of dispelling evil spirits and bringing good luck.

It uses the sake rice variety "Kaizen Shinshu," the first sake rice variety adopted in Akita Prefecture.
