Description

The sake presents a clear taste with a sense of transparency, where elegant sweetness and refreshing acidity achieve harmony, perfectly expressing the beauty of Benzaiten—an ultimate masterpiece.

To commemorate the 170th anniversary of our founding and the 15th anniversary of the launch of “Tanaka Rokugo-go,” we collaborated with seven breweries across Japan to create seven types of sake under the “Sake no Shichifukujin” project. Participating breweries include Aramasa, Sumikawa (Toyobijin), Senkin, Nichinichi, Tomita, Wakanami, and Hanano-ka. Each of these breweries begins from agriculture, confronting the essence of sake brewing directly, and continues to pursue the true nature of brewing as respected partners.

We invited these seven breweries one by one to Shiraito Sake Brewery in Itoshima, Fukuoka, to jointly brew using rice that each brewery treasures. By sharing traditions, techniques, ingredients, and philosophies, the completed sake is hoped to serve as an opportunity to convey to the world that Japanese sake still holds new possibilities even in stagnant times.

This edition’s theme, “Benzaiten,” is the only goddess among the Seven Lucky Gods, symbolizing “beauty and art, wisdom and fortune.”

“Toyobijin” is brewed by Sumikawa Sake Brewery in Yamaguchi Prefecture. True to its name, it is known for its beautiful and refined taste and is beloved throughout Japan. Famous for its delicate, elegant aroma and smooth texture, when combined with Shiraito’s brewing expertise, it achieves a level of perfection akin to a work of art.
