Description

Has a rich flavor of sweet potatoes and a unique aroma of black sugar, with a sweet and rich taste. We suggest you can choose to enjoy it by adding ice, water, soda, or hot water to the frozen ice cubes.

In the Ryukyu Kingdom era, besides the official production of rice-based sake called "Awamori", common people also brewed their own distilled liquor known as "Imugaa".

Awamori, being the official rice-based sake, was not something that common people could enjoy on a daily basis. Therefore, women in various villages used readily available materials and a method similar to making miso koji to produce their own homemade yeast, giving birth to "Imugaa".

However, with the implementation of laws prohibiting home brewing of alcohol in the later part of the Meiji period, homemade "Imugaa" gradually declined and almost disappeared by the Taisho period.

After a century of silence, this "phantom" of the common people known as "Imugaa" has finally been resurrected.
