Description

This wine presents a clear, pale yellow hue with rich citrus aromas and herbal/spice notes. The palate reveals an expansion of fruity flavors and a mineral texture, while subtle oak nuances add depth to the taste. Solid acidity and pleasant bitterness contribute to an overall sense of balance. This Koshu wine showcases a powerful concentration of fruit and mineral sensations.

The Toriihira region is a revered vineyard endorsed by the fourth generation head of the Misawa Shumei Company, Shumei Misawa. With a long history and an elevation of 450 meters, the well-draining gravelly soil in this area nurtures high-quality grapes, earning the respect of the local residents. After rigorous selection, the harvested grapes are further chosen, and the top batches undergo fermentation in French oak barrels, followed by storage in stainless steel tanks.

At one of Asia's largest wine competitions, the 2012 Japan Wine Challenge, this wine was awarded both a gold medal and a trophy.
